Highly rated Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been one of the top performers in this year's Bundesliga, but defender Marcelo Bordon has indicated it might be time for the promising stopper to move on.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United are both believed to be closely monitoring the glovesman and a big money transfer could be on the horizon for Neuer.
Bordon has made it clear that such a transfer would be blow for the Konigsblauen faithful, but that it could be in the financially-struggling club's best interest to sell such an asset.
"It would be a huge blow for the fans if Schalke sold Manuel. However, one should not forget what would be best for the club," Bordon said in an interview with Sport Bild.
"Schalke's financial situation is very important, too. It could be better for the club to cash in on Neuer. The club could get a lot of money for a talented goalkeeper such as Manuel."
