Stuttgart Defender Matthieu Delpierre Successfully Undergoes Surgery
He may have just been through an operation, but Delpierre should be able to turn out in the Schwaben's next match, which is against Hertha...
Delpierre was able to play the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach last weekend wearing a special carbon splint.
However, in a fall during the game, the broken bone dislocated further and the medical department made the decision to operate as a result. The bone was subsequently fastened using three screws.
The 28-year-old Frenchman will reduce his work-out schedule to jogging but hopes to return to full team training next week.
Delpierre expects to be able to play in the Bundesliga against Hertha a week on Saturday, again wearing his carbon splint.
