Bayer Leverkusen Youngster Lars Bender Sustains Injury
Bender has been forced to withdraw from the Germany Under-21 squad after sustaining an ankle problem in a reserve fixture. He has not been told how long he will have to sit out...
It's not yet known exactly how long the former 1860 Munich youth will be sidelined, as he has yet to undergo further examination. However, Bender has opted to withdraw from the Germany Under-21 team as a precaution.
Bender joined Bayer Leverkusen from 1860 Munich last summer and has made four league appearances for the Werkself so far. He scored his first Bundesliga goal last Friday in the 4-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
