Bayern Munich Defender Daniel Van Buyten Shakes Off Calf Injury
The Belgian centre-back has returned to full match fitness after struggling with a calf problem...
Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has received some good news from the treatment table in the build-up to the Bavarians' Bundesliga clash against Schalke 04.
Belgian centre-back Daniel Van Buyten has shaken off a calf injury and has reported fit for the showdown against the Konigsblauen this Saturday afternoon.
The former Olympique de Marseille defender picked up the injury in last week's 0-0 away draw against rivals Stuttgart and was forced to leave the pitch ten minutes before the final whistle.
Van Buyten was forced to sit out on a number of training sessions at the beginning of the week, but he returned as normal on Thursday.
Bayern currently sit sixth in the league table with 19 points from 11 games. They can overtake Schalke, who sit fourth, if they pick up the full three points this weekend.
