Schalke Set To Transfer List Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic & Six More - Report
The Konigsblauen are reportedly keen to cash in on eight players, including a couple of high profile figures. The club are on a somewhat unsound economic footing...
The Gelsenkirchen side are being plagued by economic problems and the report suggests that eight players are on their way out of the Veltins Arena in the upcoming transfer window.
Kevin Kuranyi, Ivan Rakitic, Rafinha, Albert Streit, Gerald Asamoah, Halil Altintop, Vicente Sanchez and Levan Kobiashvili are all expected to leave the club soon.
Teams such as Juventus, Milan and Bayern Munich are continually linked with a move for Brazilian defender Rafinha, and they could be tempted to try their luck in January as a result of this revelation.
Rakitic has also been linked with a number of Serie A outfits in the past couple of months. Juventus, Inter and Palermo are all reportedly keeping tabs on the Croatian playmaker.
Kuranyi's current Schalke deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010 and the Konigsblauen will not meet the striker's terms over a new contract, so his transfer seems logical.
The majority of the other aforementioned players are finding regular first team football hard to come by. Schalke are eager to offload them to lower their wage expenses.
