Pick Your Bayern Munich Team
Head coach Louis van Gaal has yet to find the perfect formation for Bayern Munich. Can you do better than the Dutchman?
Bayern Munich were unable to beat Stuttgart on Saturday and had to settle for a 0-0 draw. However, fans of the Bundesliga giants will be relieved to know that there are no further selection headaches ahead of their clash with French champions Girondins de Bordeaux.
The Bavarians’ head coach, Louis van Gaal, opted to rest Arjen Robben during last weekend’s Bundesliga game, but the tricky winger is expected to be match fit in time for Tuesday’s clash.
However, fellow attackers Ivica Olic and Franck Ribery will not be available for the match against the French champions. Both players are still sidelined due to injury worries.
Van Gaal will have to make do without defender Daniel Van Buyten and Thomas Mueller due to suspension. Both players saw the red card in the away game against Bordeaux and will have to watch the game from the stands.
Mark van Bommel and Martin Demichelis are fully match fit again after spells on the sidelines. Both are expected to make it into Van Gaal’s starting XI.
Goalkeepers: Butt, Rensing
Defenders: Lahm, Badstuber, Braafheid, Demichelis, Breno, Lell, Contento
Midfielders: Schweinsteiger, Tymoshchuk, Pranjic, Altintop, Baumjohann, Ottl
Forwards: Gomez, Robben, Toni, Klose, Sene
We ask you to leave your choices in the comments feature below using hyphens to separate positions, working from left to right. For example, here is the side that could line up in a 4-3-3 formation:
Butt – Lahm, Demichelis, Badstuber, Braafheid – Tymoshchuk, Van Bommel, Schweinsteiger – Robben, Toni, Klose
Auf geht’s Bayern!
