Zenit St. Petersburg Keen To Re-Sign Bayern Munich’s Anatoliy Tymoshchuk - Report
Although he only left Russia in the summer, the Ukrainian star is being linked with a move back to his former club already...
The Ukrainian international joined Bayern from Zenit last summer for a reputed fee of €11 million and has made nine league appearances for the Bavarian side so far.
However, head coach Louis van Gaal does not consider Tymoshchuk an important first team player and sees the midfielder as a back-up for skipper Mark van Bommel, who has missed several games this term due to a toe injury.
The highly-rated midfielder could decide to move on in order to get regular first team action somewhere else and Zenit are keen to re-sign their former captain.
Bayern have suffered from a series of injury problems this season and aren't likely to be willing to discuss a deal for a player who is still settling into life in Germany.
