"We were able to convince him to accept our offer. We used the last couple of weeks, when things quieted down a bit, to bring negotiations to a successful conclusion," sporting director Michael Zorc stated on the club's official website.
"I like the pace of the game and the system head coach Juergen Klopp plays," Kuba was quoted as saying when asked about the motivation behind the contract extension.
Blaszczykowski joined Borussia Dortmund from Polish outfit Wisla Krakow in July 2007 and has played 59 league games for the Bundesliga side so far.
