Goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has committed his future to reigning Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg until 2013 by signing a new contract with the Champions League hopefuls.
The Switzerland international joined Wolfsburg from Nacional Madeira in January 2008 and made a major contribution to the club, helping them win their first ever Bundesliga title.
"Diego Benaglio is an important foundation of our team. We are delighted to have been able to secure the long-term services of another important team member," head coach Armin Veh said on the club's official website.
"I feel very happy with Wolfsburg and am looking forward to continuing my work here. We have an ambitious team and I would like to play my part in establishing Wolfsburg at the top of the Bundesliga and developing internationally," commented Benaglio on his contract extension.
Wolfsburg have recently given long-term deals to strikers Edin Dzeko and Grafite as well as captain Josue, Alexander Madlung, Sascha Riether and Zvjezdan Misimovic.
