Werder Bremen’s Philipp Bargfrede Withdraws From Germany Under-21 Squad
The promising 20-year-old has suffered a recurrence of an old problem and will not feature for his country's Under-21s in the coming days...
"Philipp is suffering with something he has been battling for some time now. It is nothing new. With Philipp it’s a question of stress," head coach Thomas Schaaf told the official Werder website.
"We have to see to it now that we reduce his program a bit. He already received treatment today from the team doctor. And the break will definitely do him good."
The 20-year-old is a product of the Werder Bremen youth academy and has been one of the revelations of this year's Bundesliga. Bargfrede has made seven league appearances since making his official debut on August 8 in the 3-2 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt.
