Werder Bremen midfielder Philipp Bargfrede has made the decision to pull out of Germany's Under-21 squad. The promising midfielder is not fully match fit and needs rest in order to fully recover.
"Philipp is suffering with something he has been battling for some time now. It is nothing new. With Philipp it’s a question of stress," head coach Thomas Schaaf told the official Werder website.
"We have to see to it now that we reduce his program a bit. He already received treatment today from the team doctor. And the break will definitely do him good."
The 20-year-old is a product of the Werder Bremen youth academy and has been one of the revelations of this year's Bundesliga. Bargfrede has made seven league appearances since making his official debut on August 8 in the 3-2 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt.
