“I’m not happy with the result, but I’m pleased enough with the match. We were outstanding in the first 30 minutes, but we failed to score. And then Werder scored with their first attack. That was very disappointing for my players.
“It was easy for Bremen to defend with ten men after that. It’s always difficult in that situation, but we still created six or seven chances, and I’m pleased with that. However, I’m not happy with the number of chances we missed. I reckon we’d have deserved the win based on our chances in the second half.” Louis van Gaal, Bayern Munich
“It’s the right result. Both teams might have won the game. We’re happy enough with the way we played. We were extremely disciplined, and we were much better organised than last week.“ Thomas Schaaf, Werder Bremen
“That was a great success for my team. We didn’t just work for this win; we deserved it- even though we can still improve. After the game against Freiburg, which wasn’t good, we kept calm because we knew the team had more to offer. I do want to mention just one player from today’s game as it was a real team performance.” Bruno Labbadia, Hamburg
“The early goal gave the game its character. HSV were better than us in the one-on-one situations and they put their bodies on the line, while we let ourselves be fought out of the game. Without wanting to take away from Hamburg’s performance the result came about because of how we played. There is nobody in the team that doesn’t have to look at his performance today.” Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund
"The game was just as difficult as we had expected it to be. I got to see Freiburg play against Hamburg last Sunday and know what they can do. They worked very hard when not in possession and prevented us from creating chances. The game became more open in the second half after we'd taken the lead. Unfortunately we never had the presence of mind to convincingly play out the match. I have to compliment my team though for the way they battled in this heat. On the whole, we deserved the win." Markus Babbel, Stuttgart
“I saw two different halves of football. In the first-half Stuttgart were clearly in control and we tried to get our defensive game in order and the team did that, but what was lacking was our attacking play. In the second-half the game was more open. After going 2-0 down the team showed character but in the end Stuttgart deserved the win. We needed to bring the performance we gave against Hamburg and force Stuttgart into errors.” Robin Dutt, Freiburg
“I am very happy. We stood up well and dictated the game for over 80 minutes. We didn’t allow Hoffenheim to play their natural game. They put a lot into the game, but were unable to cause us that many problems. I knew would have to be patient.” Jupp Heynckes, Bayer Leverkusen
“It wasn’t a good game from us. We didn’t play like we had planned, although we did have two really good chances in the first-half. For me we lacked the necessary risk in attack. After going 1-0 down, we were never really in the game.” Ralf Rangnick, Hoffenheim
“Our game today had a number of ups and downs. I am delighted with our game up until the goal which gave us the lead. We combined well and created a number of chances. After taking the lead we allowed Nurnberg too much space and the draw really was the fair result.” Michael Skibbe, Frankfurt
“I am happy that we have our first point in the Bundesliga and proud of the way we played. The substitutions of Bunjaku and Charisteas were planned. We knew that the longer the game went on, we would gain success from long balls. I am happy therefore that it paid off.” Michael Oenning, Nurnberg
“At the end of the day I have to be unhappy with the 1-1 draw. We wasted so many chances, especially in the first-half as we were just not alert enough in front of goal. The positive from the game was that we responded quickly to going behind.” Dieter Hecking, Hannover
“All in all, we can be happy with the point. In the first-half we had big problems, but then we came more and more into the game. Our lack of concentration helped them a lot with the penalty.” Thomas Tuchel, Mainz
“We still need a bit of time. We played against the champions today and they are an extremely developed side. That however is not the case with us.” Zvonomir Soldo, Koeln
“In the first 20 minutes Koeln really gave it their all. Then we gifted them the goal in the second-half, but then we clearly controlled the game. If [Lukas] Podolski had made it 2-0 for them, then perhaps we would have lost the game.” Armin Veh, Wolfsburg
