Hertha Join Race For Rasmus Bengtsson - Report
The Swedish defender is attracting plenty of interest it seems...
An earlier report suggested that Swedish defender Rasmus Bengtsson was on his way to Dutch powerhouse PSV, but German newspaper Kicker now reports that Hertha BSC are also keen on the 23-year-old.
The Berlin outfit are eager to sign a new centre back due to the departure of Josip Simunic to Hoffenheim this summer and they've reportedly made Bengtsson their primary transfer target.
The defender has shone at club level with Trelleborg after joining from Malmo in 2006 but he rose to prominence last June while playing for Sweden Under-21s.
Bengtsson's contract is due to expire in November, and he is currently available for the knock-down price of €500,000.
Hertha and PSV face stiff competition from Spanish outfits Real Zaragoza and Sevilla for his signature, while Premier League side Everton are also in the hunt for the defender.
