Mario Gomez Settling In Well At Bayern Munich
Bayern’s €30 million record signing is enjoying life in Bavaria and can’t wait for the new season to begin…
It has taken 23-year-old Mario Gomez no time at all to settle into his new club Bayern Munich and the German international striker cannot wait to make his Bundesliga debut with the Allianz Arena club and start repaying his huge transfer fee with goals.
Gomez became the Bavarians record signing, following his end of season move from VfB Stuttgart. Many observers believed ‘Super Mario’ would be moving overseas, but Bayern moved quickly to secure his services.
"I already had a number of friends here. It’s wonderful city," Gomez told the club’s official website.
"My first impressions are extremely favourable. It’s a lot of fun here. Everything here is just a little bit bigger, better and superior to what I’ve had up to now.
"I’ve come here because Bayern are not only the number one club in Germany, but also up there at the top internationally."
Bayern are spoilt for choice in attack with Miroslav Klose, Luca Toni and Ivica Olic all competing with Gomez for a starting berth in Louis van Gaal’s starting XI.
"I have no idea who’ll form the strike pairing," Gomez admitted.
"That’s the coach’s decision. I’m just looking forward to life at Bayern, and the games I’m picked to play."
