Koeln After Villarreal Forward Nihat Kahveci – Report

The Turkish attacker could be heading for the Bundesliga...

Liga: Nihat - Villarreal-Deportivo (Marca)
According to a report in Kolner Express, Bundesliga side Koeln are closely monitoring the situation of Villarreal's highly-rated Turkish attacker Nihat Kahveci.

The former Besiktas attacker joined the Spanish outfit from Real Sociedad in 2006, however, Nihat has failed to live up to the high expectations placed upon his shoulders due to a string of injuries.

The 29-year-old striker didn't make it onto the scoresheet once this Primera Division season and Villarreal could be tempted to let go of the player if a good offer comes in.

The report suggests that a Koeln representative has already met with Nihat and that the Bundesliga outfit are considering making a move for the attacker in the upcoming days.

However, Koeln could face stiff competition from Fenerbahce. The Turkish giants have €50 million to spend and are also keen to add the forward to their squad.
