The former Stuttgart striker is continually being linked with a move away from the Veltins Arena, with clubs such as Hamburger SV, Werder Bremen, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United reportedly keeping tabs on him.
Kuranyi recently made it clear that he wanted to stay at Schalke, but new head coach Felix Magath might opt to cash in on Kuranyi now in order to raise some more transfer funds.
The former Wolfsburg coach has only €5 million available to strengthen Schalke's squad this summer.
The Konigsblauen have set a hefty €10 million asking price for the former German international and Besiktas appear to be ready to meet Schalke's demands.
Kuranyi will be re-united with holding midfielder Fabian Ernst if the transfer takes place. The midfielder joined Besiktas from Schalke last winter.
