The highly-rated attacker has reportedly already spoken with Hertha Berlin representatives, but an agreement hasn't been reached yet.
Therefore, Dortmund are considering making a move for the prolific hit-man before Hertha wrap up the deal.
Barrios made it clear that he dreams of playing in Europe in an earlier interview with Bild and he also expressed his interest in a move to Germany.
It remains to be seen though whether Borussia Dortmund will succeed in signing the player. Colo Colo are reluctant to let go of their star man and rejected offers from Nancy and Espanyol during the most recent transfer window.
Additionally, Dortmund face stiff competition from Hertha and Werder Bremen for the player's signature. The latter are looking for a replacement for star player Claudio Pizarro, who's likely to return to Chelsea this summer.
