Frustrated Hertha Star Voronin Awaits Suspension
The Ukrainian forward will be handed a suspension following his red card in the match against Hannover...
German outfit Hertha were topping the table only two weeks ago but their dreams of scooping up the Bundesliga title have ended after their third league defeat in a row.
Hannover proved to be too strong for the Berlin side and recorded a 2-0 win. To make things even worse for Hertha, star player Andrey Voronin received his marching orders in the dying minutes of the match.
The Ukrainian international got several chances to add his name to the score sheet before the break, but despite his best efforts, was unable to find the back of the net.
The 29-year-old looked frustrated after the interval and was shown the red card one minute before the final whistle after a reckless foul. Voronin was unable to control his frustration and kicked out an opponent after a light challenge.
The on-loan Liverpool striker faces what will probably be a three-match ban following his dismissal and will definitely miss Hertha's next league match against Werder Bremen next week.
