KSC have reacted to the news that captain Maik Franz will be out injured for a few months with the loan signing of Dino Drpic.
The 27 year old will attempt to help the Baden side climb up the table and avoid relegation after Edmund Becker’s side finished 15th in the first half of the Bundesliga season.
“Even before the injury to Maik Franz we were in need of signing a centre back,” admitted Karlsruhe manager Rolf Dohmen. “We are convinced that with his sporting qualities Drpic can help us. That was our main concern.”
The Croatian arrives at the Wildparkstadion with the club highly recommended to him.
He explained: "I am looking forward to Karlsruhe and the Bundesliga. I have spoken to Slaven Bilic, who played here. He assured me that KSC are a very professionally run club."
Drpic found himself out of favour at the Croatian club after it emerged he had a serious gambling problem, and a number of unsavoury incidents with both the police and team mates.
