Beleaguered Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart have received some disappointing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of their 3-3 league draw with Kaiserslautern last Saturday.
Dutch defender Khalid Boulahrouz came off the bench at half-time of the match, but was forced to leave the pitch again only 20 minutes later after having picked up a calf injury.
Boulahrouz underwent further examination on Monday and did not get the good news he was hoping for. A report on the official Stuttgart website reads that the former Chelsea defender has sustained a calf muscle sinew tear.
The injury is expected to keep Boulahrouz sidelined for about three weeks. The Netherlands international will thus miss the upcoming Bundesliga matches against Koeln and Hamburg, while it remains to be seen whether he'll be match fit in time for the Europa League clash with Young Boys on December 1.
Stuttgart have been struggling to hit top form in the 2010-11 campaign and currently sit only 14th in the league table.
