The Swedish attacker has impressed his new side with his fitness levels and could be tied down until he is nearly 38 as a result
After a brilliant start to life at Manchester United, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to be offered a contract extension by the Old Trafford club.
The Mirror reports that not only are United ready to take up the option on his deal that will see him stay until the end of the 2017-18 season, they are set to offer him an additional year that will take him through until he is nearly 38.
The Swede’s fitness is said to have particularly impressed club bosses, with the former PSG man comfortably outperforming players still considered to be at their physical peak.
Ibrahimovic has scored four goals in four Premier League outings for Jose Mourinho’s men, and such has been his influence, they are ready to scrap their ambitions to sign the likes of Gareth Bale or Neymar as a longer-term replacement.
