Akihiro Ienaga, Tomoaki Makino and Michihiro Yasuda set for winter moves

None of the three Japanese players have found much in the way of pitch time this season, and transfers may be for the best if they wish to remain in the national team

Japanese players Akihiro Ienaga and Tomoaki Makino appear set for club changes in the off-season, with the former set for a transfer to Germany's Bundesliga and the latter bound for the country's second division.

Ienaga has just one start in four appearances for Mallorca, and 18 appearances in total since transferring from his hometown club of Gamba Osaka last winter.

Rumoured destinations for the attacking midfielder include Bundesliga clubs Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen, but considering the former club's debt problems it appears likely that Ienaga will suit up for the Werkself within the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Koln's Tomoaki Makino will go on loan to 2.Bundesliga side FSV Frankfurt according to Japan's Sponichi. The 24-year-old defender has just three appearances for the 10th-placed club this season, and has come under pressure from Japan national team manager Alberto Zaccheroni to increase his playing time.

Makino chose to continue playing in Europe despite offers from J-League side Urawa Reds. Newly-inaugurated Reds manager Mihailo Petrovic mentored Makino while he was at Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

In Holland's Eredivisie, Vitesse are reportedly looking to sell right-back Michihiro Yasuda. The club believes that Frank van der Struijk and Brazilian youngster Alex can carry the water until they can sign Heerenveen's Daryl Janmaat in the summer. Yasuda was recently joined by fellow countryman Mike Havenaar, who signed with the club in December.
