Australia international Jade North has officially left J2-League champions FC Tokyo to join fellow newly-promoted outfit Consadole Sapporo.

The 29-year-old Socceroos defender, who has 34 caps for his country, struggled for first-team opportunities at Tokyo during the 2011 J2-League campaign having joined the club from Wellington Phoenix last April.

Tokyo went on to win the J2-League and promotion to the top flight along with the 2011 Emperor's Cup, earning them a berth in the 2012 AFC Champions League.

However, North has been deemed surplus to requirements and has moved to Consadole Sapporo, who won promotion to the J-League after finishing third in 2011. North thanked Tokyo for a great year on the club's website.

"It was a short year, but thank you for your support. To win J2 and the Emperor's Cup were amazing accomplishments," North said.

"I hope Tokyo will play with confidence in J1 and the ACL. I think Tokyo will cause a commotion in the ACL. It was an incredible year for me. Thank you to all of the fans and supporters."
