South China Coach Kim Pan-Gon: We Must Find Our Goal-Scoring Touch In AFC Cup
Kim laments lack of finishing…
By Rupert Fryer
South China coach Kim Pan-gon has called on his strikers to start getting ruthless in front of goal if they hope to qualify for the next stage of the AFC Cup.
“There are certainly some problems with our players up front and we must improve when we play our next match,” he told the-afc.com.
The reigning Hong Kong First Division champions have yet to find the net in their first two AFC Cup Group G matches, going down 1-0 to V.B. following the goalless draw with Muang Thong United.
Kim warned his players they must find that goal-scoring touch in time for the next fixture against Indonesian club Persiwa and admitted that Brazilian striker Leonardo had failed to live up to his billing on the continental stage so far.
“Leonardo is doing very well in the domestic league, but has yet to prove himself in the two AFC Cup matches he played for us.
“We have to work out something to solve the problems before the match against Persiwa if we want to qualify for the next stage,” Kim concluded.
