Five Players In Final List For AFC Player Of The Year
And then there were five...
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
has announced the final list of five nominees for the
AFC Player of the Year 2009 (Men's) award.
The players in contention for the gong on November 24 are: Sayed Mohamed Adnan (BHR), Kengo Nakamura (JPN), Hadi Aghily (IRN), Yasuhito Endo (JPN) and Firas Al Khatib (SYR).
Endo is the only candidate of the five who has been nominated for the award before in 2008.
Server Djeparov of Uzbekistan is the reigning AFC Player of the Year.
The awards gala takes place at the Shangri-La Hotel in the Malaysian capital.
