Iranian veteran Ferydoon Zandi has slammed reports linking him with a move away from Esteghlal.

The 33-year-old former Iran international had been reported to be interested in a move to Qatar, with several clubs allegedly keen on him.

However, Zandi told the Tehran Times the reports were not true and he had no thoughts of leaving the Tehran club.
“I love Esteghlal and I have never thought of leaving the great team," Zandi said.

"I don’t know where the rumours come from. I want to concentrate on being successful in Esteghlal.”

Already Iranian midfielder Andranik Teymourian has moved to Qatari club Al Kharaitiyat this off-season, while Javad Nekounam was chased by Al Gharafa.
