Former Atletico Madrid and Valencia boss Quique Sanchez Flores has ignored several European offers and penned a new one-year deal with UAE club Al Ahli.Al Ahli confirmed that the 47-year-old Spaniard, who joined the Red Knights on a short-term deal in November before leading them to the Emirates Cup crown, had signed the 12-month extension on Monday.
"Quique Flores has put pen to paper to extend his contract at @AlAhliClub for one more season," club chairman Abdullah Al Nabooda wrote on Twitter.
The Spaniard has plenty of admirers at Al Ahli, with chief executive Ahmad Khalifa previously labelling him the best coach ever to work in the UAE.
Quique Flores' agent Jorge Mendes indicated he had turned down "at least three offers from Europe" to remain at Al Ahli, where the Spaniard's influence saw the side recover from a poor start to finish the 2011-12 term in fifth.
