Queiroz names final 24-man Iran squad for World Cup qualifiers
Injuries mean Ashkan Dejagah and Masoud Shojaei haven't made the final cut for the Portuguese boss' list of players to take on Uzbekistan and Qatar in early June
Iran coach Carlos Queiroz has named his final 24-man squad for his side's upcoming training camp and World Cup qualifiers against Uzbekistan and Qatar.Among the notable absentees are Europe-based pair Ashkan Dejagah and Masoud Shojaei who are both out injured, while impressive youngster Payam Sadeghian failed to make the final cut after being named in an initial squad.
Sweden-based midfielder Omid Nazari is a curious call-up having been born in Malmo to Iranian and Filipino parents. Nazari is uncapped at senior level.
Iran are due to face Uzbekistan in Tashkent on June 3, before playing host to Qatar nine days later in their opening game of the final round of 2014 World Cup qualifying.
Prior to those games, Queiroz's side will assemble in Turkey for a training camp beginning on May 21, while they are due to take on Albania and Besiktas during the get-together.
