Yasser Al Qahtani netted twice inside the opening 20 minutes as the Boss secured the Emirati title after a 2-0 victory over reigning champions Al Jazira
The Boss clinched their first UAE league crown since 2004 and 10th overall, after Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al Qahtani netted a double inside the opening 20 minutes against the reigning champions.
The result moved Al Ain to 46 points, 10 ahead of second-placed Al Shabab with Al Jazira a further point back with three games to play.
“Today was about teamwork, our players were perfect, fabulous, our fans supported us very well and the win is for everyone," the Romanian boss told reporters after the win.
"I would also like to thank (Al Ain's chairman of the board of directors) Sheikh Abdullah for the trust he and the board of directors put in me and this championship is a present for him.
“We proved that we are champions, we played like a big team, controlled most of the match and achieved our target at the end.”
When Olaroiu took over at Al Ain last year he steered the club away from relegation, before instilling a winning culture this term with the championship.
Olaroiu added: “I would like to thank the people who brought me here to Al Ain Club and thank them for the trust they put in me, I’m really happy to be here.
“Our goal is to make people happy and Al Ain Club has the biggest number of fans in the UAE so we made more than 100,000 people happy."
