No Ali Karimi As Iran Name Squad For Jordan Asian Cup Qualifier And European Tests

Iran coach Afshin Ghotbi has summoned 30 players in
preparation for their 2011 Asian Cup Qualifier against Jordan in Tehran’s Azadi
Stadium on November 14.
While Osasuna stars Javad Nekounam and Masoud Shojaei have been called up, Ali Karimi, who retired from the national team in June is absent, despite the fact that Ghotbi announced recently that the door was open for the Wizard of Tehran.
Team Melli have also arranged friendly matches with Iceland on November 10 and Macedonia ten days later.
Iran is currently at the top of Group Five after four points from the opening two games.
Goalkeepers: Mehdi Rahmati, Vahid Taleblu, Misaq Memarzadeh, Sosha Makani
Defenders: Mohammad Nosrati, Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, Amir Hossein Sadeghi, Hadi Aghili, Farshid Talebi, Hossein Kabi, Hashem Beikzadeh, Khosro Heydari
Midfielders: Javad Nekounam, Masoud Shojaei, Andranik Teymourian, Mohammad Reza Khalatbari, Javad Kazemian, Majid Gholamnejad, Pejman Noori, Amir Hossein Feshangchi, Farhad Majidi, Mohammad Noori, Iman Mobali
Strikers: Ehsan Hajsafi, Milad Meidavudi, Arash Borhani, Karim Ansarifard, Amir Mohebi, Mehrzad Madanchi, Mojtaba Zarei
