The former Iranian international defender has been without a club since being released from Livorno at the end of last season. The 33 year-old spent seven seasons in Italy.
Rezaei hopes that he can not only shore up a Reds defence that has struggled at times this season but can perhaps win a plae back in the national team.
"I have signed a six-month contract with Persepolis but I am still waiting for my International Transfer Certificate (ITC)," Rezaei said according to Press TV.
"I am really happy to play for such a popular team and I hope I can use all my experience to help the club both in the Iranian Premier League (IPL) and Asian competitions," he added.
