The United Arab Emirates kicked off preparations for their fourth round World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 over FC Sion on Tuesday.

UAE

The UAE, who are drawn together with South Korea, DPR Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iran in Group B, will play DPR Korea in their opening match on September 6.

And coach Bruno Metsu has gathered his team on a training trip to Europe.

The friendly, which is played in Valais in Switzerland, saw Metsu testing out several players in his squad.

However, it was Saif Mohammed who netted the only goal of the match, when he scored in the 64th minute. The Al Ain winger did well to beat his marker to fire home.

The UAE will continue their series of friendlies against Algeria in France on 20 August.
