The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and coach Henrique Calisto have agreed to a new three-year deal which was signed this week.

Under the new contract agreement, Calisto will receive a monthly salary of USD22,000 – marked improvement from the previous USD13,000 which he received.

Other than that, Calisto will also enjoy other perks which included accommodations, airfares back to Portugal, health insurance, and additional bonuses if the national squad and the Under-23 team achieve the desired results at regional and international tournaments.

Nguyen Lan Trung, the vice chairman of the VFF said that Calisto will be drawing up a new strategy in these three years to further develop Vietnamese football’s standings in regional and continental competitions.

The immediate task for Calisto this year would be to defend the ASEAN Football Championship title they won in 2008.
