Thailand head coach Bryan Robson is in no doubt as to the precarious position the Elephants’ 2011 Asian Cup qualifying campaign is in and knows that the upcoming Jordan match on January 6 is a must-win.

Group E is a tight affair. After four of the six matches, Thailand are in third with five points. Iran are leading the group with seven points, Singapore are on second with six points and Jordan are anchoring the bottom with four points.

"We know that we must beat Jordan to get a good chance to qualify for the finals. It is a very important game," said Robson.

The Thai team is currently in training in Bangkok preparing for the match against Jordan at the Rajamangala National Stadium.

Thailand’s final group match will be against Iran in March, where from the two matches they will be hoping to pick up four points so as to grab the one of the two available slots from the group to advance to the finals.

In the meantime, following Thailand's first-round exit at the SEA Games last week, the FA of Thailand (FAT) have assigned former national coach Chatchai Paholpat and ex-Thailand international striker Kiatisak Senamuang to assist Robson in the two Asian Cup qualifiers.
