SEA Games: Laos Move Decisive Singapore Clash To Bigger Stadium
The hosts are getting excited...
Following the team’s fabulous 2-0 won over Indonesia in their last match two days ago at the Chao Anu Vong Stadium, there were calls for the game to be moved to the Main Stadium considering the overwhelming response of ticket buyers.
The Chao Anu Vong Stadium could only accommodate up to 10,000 spectators.
The Laos-Singapore clash between will be played immediately after the match between Myanmar and Indonesia.
Laos need a draw to be sure of a semi-final spot.
Head coach Alfred Riedl felt that Laos’ 2-0 win over Indonesia proved that the team is making real progress following their long-term development programme with Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) for over a year.
“It was a concerted team effort against Indonesia with every player playing his part,” said Riedl.
“I hope that we can put up the same kind of performance when we play Singapore next. We are looking to win the group obviously.”
