Steve Darby Names Strong Thailand Squad For SEA Games
Is a ninth title on the cards?
The eight-time winners face Vietnam on December 2 in Vientiane and then will take on Cambodia, Malaysia and Timor leste.
Steve Darby, usually Thailand’s assistant coach, is at the helm for the competition and is confident of a good showing.
"I have selected the team myself," he said according to The Bangkok Post.
"I know Thai people take the SEA games seriously and we have a good squad."
Thailand SEA Games manager Samart Maluleem has identified Vietnam as the biggest obstacle in the way of Thailand’s ninth title.
"I have told our players to win the gold medal for our King.," said Samart.
