Indonesia 1-1 Kuwait: Ten Man Hosts Let Lead Slip Against New Group Leaders
The West Asians are looking good...
For the second time in four days, the south-east Asians failed to hold on to a first half lead against the West Asian opposition.
Now Indonesia have just three points from four games in their group while Kuwait go above Australia to top the group.
Budi Sudarsono volleyed the hosts ahead on the stroke of half-time after the Kuwait defence gave him too much space and time.
Matters took a turn for the worse for Indonesia, seven minutes after the restart as defender Ismed Sofian was sent off for a bad tackle.
Unsurprisingly, Kuwait pushed forward searching for the equalizer and spurred on by their man advantage.
It came with 19 minutes remaining as Kuwait’s star striker Ahmed Ajab got the all important goal.
Now Indonesia have to defeat Oman in January to have a chance of booking a spot in Qatar in 2011.
1: Kuwait 7 2: Australia 7 3: Oman 4 4: Indonesia 3
