Malaysia: Kelantan And Negeri Sembilan Meet In Malaysia Cup Final
The weekend showpiece should be a good one...
Kelantan made the final following a hat-trick from Nor Farhan Mohamed which led his team past Perlis 3-1 for an aggregate 5-1 win in the semi-finals.
For Negeri Sembilan, they prevented an all east coast final when they sidestepped Terengganu 3-1 in the second leg for a 4-1 aggregate win.
The absence of striker Indra Putra Mahyuddin did not affect the side led by former Malaysian national coach B. Sathianathan as Nor Farhan slammed in the goals in the 26th, 53rd and 87th minute for the win.
The only goal for Perlis came off Firdaus Fauzi in the 70th minute.
In Kuala Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan were banking on their 1-0 advantage from the first leg to carve out the first goal in the game and it came off international striker Zaquan Adha Abd Radzak in the ninth minute before he added the second goal of the night in the 18th minute.
Terengganu then gave themselves a lifeline off a header from Khairul Izwan Khalid in the 35th minute to put the score 2-1 to Negeri’s advantage.
But former Terengganu striker Hairuddin Omar buried whatever hope the hosts had with the third goal of the game to put Negeri Sembilan in the third final since 2000.
