Vietnam: Da Nang Looking Good

SHB are looking like strong candidates to clinch their first league title in 17 years.

Da Nang, who are being led by former international striker Le Huynh Duc, are five points clear of second-placed Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) and six points ahead of Military Zone 4 in third.

Out of the 13 games they have played thus far, Da Nang have won eight matches, drawn three times and lost twice.

Their latest was a 1-0 victory over The Cong at their home base of the Chi Lang Stadium.

“I want to give it my all for my team and expect we will take the top spot in the V-League,” said Hunyh Duc, who has maintained strict discipline in his team. “I hope to keep the team in top form.”

Da Nang’s squad includes five foreigners led by Jose de Emidio Almeida, who was the top scorer last season and has continued his form with nine goals thus far this year.

Apart from Almeida, there’s also Merlo Gaston, Molina Gaston Eduardo, half-back Rogerio Machado Pereira and sweeper Rafael Marquez.
