Peter Reid: Thailand Have Only Won One Game

Peter Reid, the head coach for Thailand, has reminded his charges that they have won only one game in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008 thus far – and not the whole championship.

Hosts Thailand beat Vietnam 2-0 in their first game of Group B but Reid was quick to point out that the players must keep their feet on the ground and that they will have to work hard against Laos on Monday.

"Laos showed that they can be quite organised and while they held off Malaysia for more than an hour, they did have their chances too," said Reid at the pre-match press conference this morning.

"If they had scored the one-to-one situation they created yesterday, then that would have definitely changed the outcome of the game.

"Against Laos, we have to play the match at a high tempo and play to our strength."

In the meantime Niwat Klaysang, the team manager of Laos said that the team will be looking for a torrid time against hosts Thailand tomorrow.

"Thailand have very good players with quality midfielders and it is because of that, we have to put more pressure at the centre of the park," added Niwat.

"The players have to work really hard against Thailand and they must run at all times and not walk or jog. They must work a lot harder."
