South Korea: We're Not Playing Zambia - Maybe They Confused Us With North Korea
It could be a case of mistaken identity...
South Korea
have denied that they have arranged a friendly match with Zambia in November
and are, according to reports in Seoul, about to announce a test against Serbia
in London.
Earlier this week, Goal.com reported the Zambia media claims that the Taeguk Warriors were headed to Africa after their Denmark friendly on November 14.
The Korean Football Association (KFA) is nonplussed at the reports.
“We will play Serbia in London at the home of Fulham FC and international player Seol Ki-hyeon,” a source at the KFA told Sports Chosun.
“There are nothing to these reports about Zambia. Maybe North Korea will go there.”
Kim Ju-song of the KFA’s international department also maintained that the Zambia game wasn't going ahead but didn't name Serbia as the opponent.
“The Zambia reports are not correct,” said Kim. “We are negotiating with a European team and will make an announcement soon.”
