Former Juventus, Milan and Napoli forward Jose Altafini simply believes his former club have snapped back to reality.
"I don't think the crisis of Napoli can be explained by a single cause,” he explained to Radio Gol. “Perhaps [it is] due to the decline of their physical condition.
"They’re a good team, with some great players, but they’re not a top club. They are missing players who have experience. It [having many young players] is an advantage at the start of the season, but in the long run they will suffer physically."
Napoli officials and players have stated their goal is to qualify for the UEFA Cup, but Altafini is doubtful that can be achieved.
"It will be difficult to get close to Genoa,” he explained. “Roma have made a big comeback and Udinese are recovering - it will not be easy for the Azzurri to get into the UEFA zone.”
