It has been confirmed by Napoli's transfer guru Pierpaolo Marino that the the club will be signing left-sided midfielder Jesus Alberto Datolo from Boca Juniors.
"There are still medical examinations to be done as with any transfer," Marino told RadioKissKiss, "but the signing is already in the pipeline. Until there are the signatures I cannot giva an official notice, but it is likely nothing will happen [to get in the way]."
The Partenopei official then revealed that they have had an eye on the 24-year-old for quite a while.
"Datalo is a player we've followed for a long time," he explained. "On the left he can play any role, he has a lovely left strike, able to take corner kicks and penalties. At Banfield, I say him play on the right as well."
Datolo moved to Boca Juniors from Banfield in 2006, winning a number of titles in his time there. His signature will cost Napoli in the range of €7 million.
