Napoli have made their intentions clear right from the onset of the January transfer period, and they have immediately acted on them by signing Polonia Warsaw’s Tomasz Jodlowiec just 24 hours ago.

Jodlowiec is a central defender, and will provide some much needed depth and cover at the back when he joins with the squad at the conclusion of the season.

Despite the early signing, the club’s main intention this winter is acquiring an attacking player in a bid to replace the imminent departure of Marcelo Zalayeta.

As a result, the Partenopei have turned to the Polish market yet again, where they have their sights set on Robert Lewandowski from the five-time Polish champions, Lech Poznan.

At this stage of the season Lewandowski has scored eight goals for his club and has been one of the most influential performers in the side that currently sits atop the table.

The initial reports from Tuttomercatoweb suggested that the move cold take place as early as this month, however with Jodlowiec set to join at the conclusion of the season, perhaps Lewandowski will follow suit and thus do likewise.

Lewandowski is just 20 years of age, and has earned four caps for the Polish national team in his fledgling career.
