Yesterday, lawyer Eduardo Rossetto warned that Ezequiel Lavezzi could walk away from Napoli, if club president Aurelio De Laurentiis does not reward him with a much-improved deal.
However, one of his agents, Alejandro Mazzoni, has now moved to clarify those declarations.
“Rossetto and I have met with [director of sport Pierpaolo] Marino and we have discussed the lad’s contract situation,” he revealed to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“We mainly talked about the necessity to adjust his wages to his current value. Ezequiel is having a great season, he is one of the best players in Serie A at the moment and we believe that his contract should be more in line with the market logics.”
The 23-year-old has been in superb form so far and netted a brilliant goal at the Stadio San Siro last Sunday, but the Azzurri still fell 2-1 to Inter.
“Nonetheless, I am sure that everything will be resolved,” he continued. “I think that he will soon sign an extension, because he loves it here in Naples and knows that the fans adore him.”
