Napoli are currently in fourth place in the Serie A, with 24 points recorded after 13 rounds of football. They are six points adrift of the league leaders Inter Milan, the side they face this weekend.

A win in this contest for the Partenopei will leave them just three points behind the reigning champions as the winter break approaches. A loss however will result in a nine point deficit to the top of the standings, which may consequently end the hopes of a Napoli Scudetto this term.

There are some minor issues for the visitors in the lead up to this contest, however, particularly in attack as their coach Edy Reja is unsure who to utilize alongside the immovable Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The two prime candidates are German Denis and Marcelo Zalayeta, who has recently returned from suspension.

It’s not a bad position for the club to be in, although Reja will want to get it right, as the Nerazzurri have the best defensive record in Serie A so far.

In the match of the round, Inter and Napoli will do battle at the San Siro stadium this Sunday afternoon, with play getting underway at 15:00 CET.
