Having said this though, the 20-year-old has had not seen much action in the past month or so, as he has not started in his side’s past four outings.
With this in mind, he has been strongly linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen in recent days, as the player himself favours a Bundesliga adventure. Despite this, Napoli, who have been monitoring his progress for quite some time now, are determined to halt his potential move to Germany, as they look to entice the starlet to their club.
Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis is aware of the fact he and his men in the boardroom are running out of time to launch an offer and the club are believed to be in talks on what immediate actions they should take.
One thing is for sure though, and that is that the Naples outfit are genuinely interested in Derdiyok and they will do all they can to attain his services.
