An important turning point in the game came when Marcelo Zalayeta was sent off for his second yellow card of the match. The Azzurri return home with no points won away in Bergamo.
After the game Reja said, “Atalanta definitely did more than us, the victory is legitimate. We did well for half an hour but then we collapsed. Our position in the league is still excellent though.”
Reja added, “Today we did not see the usual Napoli. Everything happened in the end, the match was going along calmly and then after Zalayeta’s sending off there was a bit of tension and then other episodes that were controversial.”
