The highly-rated Colombian defender has yet to feature this term for the Stadio Friuli outfit due to a fracture to the zygomatic bone he suffered during a 2010 World Cup qualifying game against Peru last June.

The Via Turati directors enquired after the centre-back this summer, but the Zebrette slapped a €15m price-tag on his head that scared off Galliani.

The 22-year-old was coming off a superb campaign which inevitably increased his value on the transfer market, but Sportmediaset.it reports that Bianconeri coach Pasquale Marino has already valid alternatives in his ranks and President Giampaolo Pozzo  could be ready to sacrifice the youngster.

The Friulans snapped up Maurizio Domizzi from Napoli on transfer deadline day and the Roman native has forged a strong partnership with Andrea Coda.

Moreover, Brazilian Felipe is also set to make his comeback from a lengthy lay-off and further bolster the defensive line.

Therefore, it is alleged that Udinese could considerably reduce their economic demands and a bid of around €8m could be sufficient to sign Zapata.

However, the Stadio San Siro side could face competition from Juventus who were also linked with the Colombia international this summer.
