Los Leones enjoyed
a good term last season but they failed to get themselves into Europe as they finished mid-table in La Liga. European football is now on the club's agenda for next season and the team will be trying to make some improvements on last term.
The real hard work begins now and Los Leones were put through their paces on Tuesday in order to get back into to shape during pre-season.
28 players from the first team squad were joined by five youth team players as they undertook some gruelling exercises.
Club doctor Josean Lekue believes the team is doing well and that there are no major problems and he has also spoken of the players dietary needs.
“They all seem to be in good form,” Lekue told AS
“As for meal times, they need to take them during times which will ensure the players output is at he maximum level.
“The new season will be demanding and longer than last term and thus we need to begin where we left off with only minor changes being made here and there.”
The San Mames-based outfit will be hoping to climb up the La Liga table and challenge for major honours next term. It's onwards and upwards for Joaquin Caparros' men.
