Racing Santander President: Zigic Wanted To Return In August
Following the return of Nikola Zigic to Racing Santander, President Francisco Pernía, has thanked the player for his willingness, and has also said it will be a profitable move...

The long-awaited return of Nikola Zigic to Racing Santander might be one of the least surprising pieces of business done this winter, but it could still turn out to be very rewarding.
The Serbian left los Verdiblancos for Valencia over a year ago now, and whilst he might not have played much, the president of Racing, Francisco Pernía, is understandably excited about the loan signing.
"Everyone know I do not want to speak about the money side, but it is a very profitable move," he told AS.
"If the sporting side turns out well, then of course, the economic side will have been a success.
"We must thank Zigic who, since the first moment, wanted to return, firstly in August, and now. He wanted to win with Valencia by playing, but if he could not do so, he knew what he had to do."
The move seems to make sense for both clubs, wih Zigic clearly not part of Unai Emery's plans at Los Che, and Racing wanting him back.
The president still went on to thank Valencia for the part they played in the transfer though.
"I want to thank Valencia for the position they have always been in with us, always offering us transfers of regular players, but we never wanted them," he mused.
"For us it was important that the transfer from Valencia, was done to settle a debt agreed not between clubs, but put in front of a court. I am very thankful to Valencia for the deal that has been done."
